This show is comprised of several pieces of “art of assemblage” created by local artist Richard Baldwin. In these pieces, he used wood, piano wire, cloth, bike parts, metal, slides, music sheets, and other found objects in combination with oil and acrylic paint. Come experience these unique works created in an artistic style that dates to pre-World War I Germany. There will be no distractions; just focusing on the style.
About the artist: Richard was born in Syracuse in 1948 and he started his art journey at 12 with a box camera. He began taking art classes in high school and, while serving in the Navy, he started dabbling in photography. From 1998-2017 he was a historical tailor, making 18th-century military clothing.
This exhibit will be on display on the main floor of the library from March 28 – April 28, 2026. There will be a closing reception at the library for Richard on April 28 from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
