Painting with Wool
In this class, you will make a unique fiber art painting beginning with a background canvas of prepared wool. Using both needle and wet felting techniques, you will learn how to create pictures with wool, silk fibers, and fabrics. Come with your inspiration images for making your fiber art piece unique. Students should bring 2 old towels; a waterproof apron or smock; a plastic bowl (about 2-quart size); latex gloves (optional); photos of inspiring landscapes, scenes or people; and a bag lunch. There is a $10 materials fee to be paid to the instructor on the day of the class. You can sign up for classes by registering and paying at the arts center, or via PayPal using either the center’s website or Facebook PayPal link, or by mailing registration details and a check.
