Mixed media and digital artist Carla Senecal explores the expanding boundaries of graphic design in an exhibition starting with a free public reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at Oswego State Downtown (186 W. First St.). Part of SUNY Oswego’s Downtown Artists Series, the exhibition runs through March 17.
Senior graphic design major Brittany Koch and senior creative writing major Jennifer Moss make presentations during the opening reception. The Downtown Artists Series is an opportunity for student poets, artists and musicians to reflect on and react to the work on exhibit.
A visiting assistant professor of art at SUNY Oswego, Senecal received a master of fine arts degree from Vermont College of Fine Arts. “Inspired by Data” features a series of compositions that illustrate through interactive two-dimensional pieces and personal esoteric experiences, as well as explore possible outcomes suggested by the use of data, according to the artist’s statement.
