Through the careful examination of the experiences and creations of those who lived it, art and literature give much insight into the past. Playing on the title of a famous Paul Lawrence Dunbar poem, "Removing the Mask: We Wear Their Vocies," is a collection of portraits unveiling Black Artists and Activists who use(d) their voices to disrupt the status quo, despite the significant and often Hazardous consequences associated with removing the mask of content.
