Of Time and Place: A Musical Canvas is a multimedia performance by pianist Tina Toglia and visual artist Mary P. Murphy that is inspired by the Swale Pond Bird & Wildlife Sanctuary in Trenton, NY.
The first performance was January 21, 2024, at Munson in Utica*, and a panel discussion followed. We will announce the next date and performance in the future.
The concert is designed to immerse viewers in artists’ perceptions of the Sanctuary in both music and visual arts. Ms. Toglia will play solo and four-hand piano, and Ms. Murphy will demonstrate painting live and share her videos during the musical performance. Their hope is to celebrate a local treasure, make a variety of music approachable to audiences and build awareness of the fragility of our environment.
