Bespoke Art & Craftsmanship to Host Inaugural Virtual Artisan Summit

Bespoke Art & Craftsmanship, a collective of art based businesses, will host its first virtual artisan summit to educate art consumers about the work of local artisans and also assist artists recovering from financial loss due to Covid-19 shutdowns. In New York, COVID-19 has devastated our creative economy businesses with a loss of $26.8 billion in revenue.  Adrienne Peltz, co- owner of Forge Gone Conclusions, which creates handmade jewelry, realized the impact it was having not only to her business, but other businesses. “We wanted to pay it forward and help other artisans grow as well as the local community.” In collaboration with a group of other artisans, Peltz developed a forum to highlight local artists while also raising funds for CNY Arts, a community sponsor.

The Bespoke Art & Craftmanship Virtual Summit event begins on Friday, October 15th and concludes Sunday, October 24th. Each day the summit will feature a video visit to a different working studio where information on processes, materials, techniques and tools will be presented by the artisan. Virtual attendees will be able to watch the artisans working in their studios and learn about the training, materials, tools and processes that go into the making of fine custom jewelry, reclaimed fabric creations, up-cycled metal work, ceramic garden sculpture, traditional painting techniques, printmaking, and mixed media creations. While the virtual summit is free, donations are requested and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the CNY Arts Covid-19 Arts Impact Fund, which provides financial support to artists and arts organizations in a 7-county region of Central New York and the Mohawk Valley affected by the pandemic.

Attendees can connect to the Bespoke website at www.bespokeartcraft.com and register.

They will receive regular reminders when new videos are released.
