Kirkland Art Center Hosts MARDI GRAS Party – the Most Fun in February
Clinton, NY — The Kirkland Art Center in Clinton will be filled with live music and party goers on Saturday, February 10 from 7 pm for their annual KACelebration fundraiser. This year’s event is a raucous MARDI GRAS party that will take place in the KAC Gallery, which will be transformed for the evening with elaborate décor, live music, food and drinks, silent auction. There will be a photo booth, costume prizes, and MARDI GRAS swag.
The evening will feature two bands – local trio Big Tasty and The Sass who will play their full set of jazz favorites including New Orleans classics, and Steve & Steve who will open the evening with their lively party vibe.
“We’re telling everyone to come ready to party because it’s the most fun they’ll have in February!” said Damhnait McHugh, a KAC Board member, and Board president Jon Hysell added, “Our winter needs to be broken up by fun stuff like this, and it’s important to support the arts and our local quality of life here.”
Party goers will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and drinks donated by local restaurants, Clinton Wine & Spirits, and Saranac. A silent auction includes original artworks by local artists, a Kyfe Sauna experience at The Garret on the Green, a Samba dance experience, a Day with the Mayor, a Movie Night at the KAC, a bumper gift basket from Artisan’s Corner, private lessons in guitar, ukulele and bookmaking, gift certificates for golf outings and restaurants, and lots more.
“This is always a really enjoyable evening and it’s a wonderful way for everyone to support our community arts center while having great fun,” said Anita Welych, KAC Executive Director. “We want to celebrate all the good things happening at the art center, all the creativity happening under our new roof every day. The support and enthusiasm of the community is so critical to help create the new culinary arts studio, diversify classes, plan exhibitions, workshops and concerts, and engage everyone in the community.”
The MARDI GRAS KACelebration will be held Saturday, February 10 from 7 pm to 10 pm at the Kirkland Art Center, East Park Row in Clinton, NY. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at www.kacny.org or at the door.
